Terms & Conditions

When using Tamarindo Transfers & Tours you understand and agree to the following terms and conditions:

Shared Shuttle Services: This service is an on demand, fixed price, door-to-door service where individually booked groups or individuals that are unknown to each other share the vehicle during their journey to or from the airport.

Airport Procedures: The driver will be waiting by the front exit door with a Tamarindo Transfers & Tours sign with your name it. Expect to take 15-30 minutes to clear customs and immigration on arrival. We allow a maximum of 30 minutes waiting time from the moment you meet the driver.

Payment Policy: Tickets can be purchased by email, telephone or at our downtown office in Tamarindo. Reservations require either a cash payment or credit card info (to either hold the reservation or pay for it) at the time of booking. As per your instructions, we will either charge the card for the full amount of your transfer or a hold will be placed on your card pending the cash payment to the driver. Credit card info can be provided via email, encrypted document (PDF) or call our US numbers at 1-929-800-4621 during business hours or our local number at 011-506-2653-4444.

We DO NOT accept $100 bills, so please make sure to have the exact amount for your transfer since the driver not necessary always will have change.

When you submit your reservation we will issue a Transfer Voucher. In the event that the minimum of 2 or 3* people has not been met, the client will be notified and the transfer will either be cancelled or the client can opt to pay the minimum amount of $40 or $60 depending on the arrival/departure time*.

The Transfer Voucher is the ticket. This must be presented to the driver or representative. Payment to the driver of any balance will be handled at the time you are picked up to embark on your journey.

Limitations of Liability: Due to traffic, weather conditions, mechanical problems, driving routes and other circumstances that are beyond our control, we cannot be held responsible for late departures and/or arrivals. Just like in air travel, there are no refunds or partial refunds for delays.

Cancellation or Modification & Refunds: We understand your travel plans may change and other circumstances may arise. So if you have to cancel your reservation due to an emergency we will not charge you any fees.

If cancellation occurs within

  • 90 days prior to service:  20% penalty
  • 8 days prior to service: 50% penalty
  • Within 24 hours of service: no refund
  • Cancellations must be submitted per e-mail to reservations@tamarindoshuttle.com

When you book your service, we will take your flight number and scheduled arrival time so that we are able to monitor your flight for any delays. It is your responsibility to inform us of any missed connections, flight delays, or cancellations.

If your flight is cancelled in advance, we will not dispatch the driver and will wait for further instructions from you.

For cancellation or modification of your reservation, we ask that you notify our office by calling 011-506-2653-4444 or US 1-929-800-4621 or email reservations@tamarindoshuttle.com to inform us of any change to an existing reservation.

Any passenger that cannot be contacted 60 minutes after the flight is confirmed landed will be considered a NO SHOW and the bus will not wait. The reservation will be cancelled and fully charged.

All payments made for a booking will be refunded if it is cancelled by Tamarindo Transfers & Tours.

Lost Items: Many bags look alike. Our drivers cannot be responsible for remembering which bags belong to each passenger. Upon reaching your destination, please check to see that you have retrieved all your belongings, and that each bag, briefcase, computer, etc. is, indeed, yours.

Passengers are responsible for their personal possessions. We try our best to return items left in our vehicles to their owners, but we assume no liability for lost, stolen, damaged or misplaced items. Any charges incurred in returning a left-behind item to its owner must be paid for by the owner.

Conditions of Carriage: You acknowledge that Tamarindo Transfers & Tours reserves the right to make use of sub-contractors to perform services on its behalf. These trusted sub-contractors will be able to provide an equally high quality of service as Tamarindo Transfers & Tours. These terms and conditions will continue to apply in full where Tamarindo Transfers & Tours engages a contractor to provide services on its behalf.

Tamarindo Transfers & Tours reserves the right to refuse transportation to anyone deemed unsafe or unsuitable for travel. Passengers whom are denied boarding will not receive any type of refund or compensation. Passengers who intimidate, threaten or interfere with any employee or fellow passenger will be denied boarding. Raised vocal tones are deemed intolerant and will be dealt with accordingly.

Please be considerate of fellow passengers. Customers whom are denied boarding will no longer be able to travel with us for future trips.

Shared Ride Transfer Luggage Allowance: When you travel with Tamarindo Transfers & Tours the following luggage allowances and restrictions apply.

2 pieces of luggage not weighing more than 25 kg each.

Normal airline carry-on items – no charge.

Extra or over-sized items

  • $10.00 per item (short board, golf clubs etc.)
  • $20 per item (long board, bicycle, etc)

Animals: No animals are permitted on the shared shuttle service.

Gratuities: Our airport rates do not include a gratuity. Tipping is of course at your discretion and is much appreciated by our drivers.
